USA’s David Decker Named MVP of the Men’s U23 Pan American Cup

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, September 27, 2026.- USA opposite David Decker was named Most Valuable Player of the Men’s U23 Pan American Cup after his team defeated Costa Rica in four sets in Sunday’s gold medal match at the Gimnasio del Palacio de los Deportes Carlos “El Famoso” Hernández. Decker topped the list of individual award recipients presented at the conclusion of the tournament, where the United States earned its first gold medal in only its second appearance in the competition. In addition to MVP honors, Decker was awarded Best Opposite and Best Server. His USA teammates Trevor Herget, named Best Receiver and Second Best Spiker, and Cameron Hoying, named Best Setter, also received individual honors.  More  Español

First Men’s U23 Pan American Cup Title for the United States
SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, September 27, 2026.- In just its second appearance at the Men’s U23 Pan American Cup, the United States captured the title for the first time after defeating Costa Rica 3-1 (25-16, 23-25, 25-13, 25-17). Last year, the United States also reached the final, falling to the Dominican Republic. Both teams entered the final undefeated and without having dropped a single set. The United States finished the tournament with a perfect 4-0 record, while Costa Rica closed with four wins and one loss, earning a historic silver medal.The match started evenly, but the United States gradually took control and built a comfortable lead to win the first set. Mexico Edges Guatemala in Tight Battle to Win Bronze

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, September 27, 2026.- Mexico defeated Guatemala 3-1 (25-23, 25-20, 22-25, 28-26) in a tightly contested match to earn the bronze medal at the Men’s U23 Pan American Cup. Mexico finished the tournament with a 3-2 record, while Guatemala placed fourth with a 2-2 record. The opening set was evenly matched, with both teams attacking with precision and power. Mexico managed to build a two-point advantage down the stretch and held on to take the set 25-23. Mexico stayed in front throughout the second set. Dominican Republic Finishes Fifth with Win Over El Salvador

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, September 27, 2026.- Dominican Republic finished fifth at the Men’s U23 Pan American Cup after defeating El Salvador 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-19). Serving and blocking were key to the Dominican victory, while their back-row attacks also proved effective in breaking through El Salvador’s block. Dominican Republic finished the tournament with a 2-2 record, while El Salvador closed with one win and three losses. Costa Rica Reaches Historic First Men’s U23 Pan American Cup Final

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, September 26, 2026.- Costa Rica defeated Guatemala 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-12) to advance to the Men’s U23 Pan American Cup final for the first time in its history. Costa Rica will play for its first gold medal in the tournament, while Guatemala will compete for the bronze medal for the second time, having won bronze in 2018. United States First Team to Advance to Men’s U23 Pan American Cup Final

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, September 26, 2026.- The United States became the first team to advance to the Men’s U23 Pan American Cup final after defeating Mexico 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-20). In just its second appearance in the tournament, the United States advanced to the gold medal match for the second consecutive time. Mexico started the match with plenty of power, while the United States gradually evened things out before taking the lead at 14 and building a comfortable advantage to close out the first set. In the second set, the United States found its rhythm and became more effective in attack. Nicaragua Takes Seventh Place After Defeating Trinidad and Tobago

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, September 26, 2026.- Nicaragua secured seventh place at the Men’s U23 Pan American Cup after defeating Trinidad and Tobago 3-2 (25-18, 25-22, 15-25, 19-25, 16-14) in San Salvador. Nicaragua held a slight edge in the first two sets, committing few unforced errors and playing with greater confidence. Trinidad and Tobago put up strong resistance, but the Nicaraguans managed to close out both sets to take a 2-0 lead.

In the third set, Trinidad and Tobago’s attack was clearly superior, allowing them to cut the deficit. The Trinidadians maintained their offensive pressure in the fourth set to even the match and force a tiebreaker. More  Español

Mexico Defeats El Salvador and Advances to U23 Pan American Cup Semifinals

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, September 25, 2026.- Mexico defeated El Salvador 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-20) to advance to the semifinals of the Men’s U23 Pan American Cup in San Salvador. On Saturday, Mexico will face the United States at 5:00 p.m. in the first semifinal, while Guatemala will meet Costa Rica in a Central American showdown at 7:00 p.m. in the second semifinal. Guatemala Returns to Men’s U23 Pan American Cup Semifinals

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, September 24, 2026.- Guatemala defeated Grenada 3-0 (25-13, 25-12, 25-9) to return to the semifinals of the Men’s U23 Pan American Cup. The Guatemalans had not reached this stage since 2018, when they won the bronze medal. Guatemala capitalized on Grenada’s 39 unforced errors to earn a convincing victory that secured a direct berth to the semifinals. The Guatemalans finished Pool C undefeated with two victories, while El Salvador closed with a 1-1 record and Grenada went winless. Guatemala advanced to the semifinals as the best-ranked winner of the three pools, followed by the United States, which also earned a direct berth. United States Secures Direct Berth to Men’s U23 Pan American Cup Semifinals

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, September 24, 2026.- The United States defeated Trinidad and Tobago 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-15) to secure a direct berth to the semifinals of the Men’s U23 Pan American Cup. The United States finished Pool B undefeated with a 2-0 record and now awaits its semifinal opponent. Trinidad and Tobago finished third in the pool and awaits its next opponent in the classification matches for positions 7-9. The United States had a relatively comfortable match, taking early leads in each set and remaining in control for most of the contest. El Salvador Celebrates Victory with Home Crowd

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, September 22, 2026.- El Salvador celebrated its first victory at the Men’s U23 Pan American Cup alongside its home crowd, defeating Grenada 3-0 (25-12, 25-12, 25-16) at the Palacio de los Deportes Carlos “El Famoso” Hernández. Mauricio Reyes led all scorers with 12 points, while Abner Cano contributed 11 points to El Salvador’s victory. For Grenada, Jamal Collins and Zerick Walcott finished with six points apiece. El Salvador held the advantage in every scoring category, 33-16 in attacks, 7-3 in blocks, and 8-3 in aces. Grenada gave away 27 points on errors compared to 18 by El Salvador. The start of the match was challenging for El Salvador, which trailed during the opening points of the first set. San Salvador to Host Nine Teams at Men’s U23 Pan American Cup

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, September 19, 2026.- Nine teams will compete in the Men’s U23 Pan American Cup, scheduled for September 22–27 at the Palacio de los Deportes Carlos “El Famoso” Hernández in San Salvador, El Salvador. The tournament will bring together Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, the United States, Guatemala, Grenada, Mexico, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic and Trinidad and Tobago, divided into three pools of three teams each.

Pool A will feature Mexico, Costa Rica and Nicaragua; Pool B will include the United States, Dominican Republic and Trinidad and Tobago; and Pool C will consist of host El Salvador, Guatemala and Grenada. More  Español
