CIUDAD DE GUATEMALA, Guatemala, April 7, 2010 –
Delegates from NORCECA, the Volleyball National
Federation of Guatemala and the Organizing
Committee of the fourth stop of the 2010 NORCECA
Beach Volleyball Circuit informed the media
about the details of the competition during a
press conference held here.
The meeting with the media was chaired by Mrs.
Marta Centeno de Sajche, Vice President of
NORCECA and President of AFECAVOL, Mr. Daniel
Reynoso, Delegate of NORCECA, Mr. Miguel
Ramirez, Referee Delegate, Mr. Luis Enrique
Santis, President fo the National Volleyball
Federation of Guatemala and Mrs. Zully Zaravia,
Marketing Delegate and President of the
Organizing Committee.
The fourth leg of the tour will take place
through April 6-12 at the courts of Campo Marte
located in the Zone 5 of Guatemala City, with 18
pairs in the men’s bracket and 14 in the women’s
side representing St. Lucia, USA, Canada, Puerto
Rico, Costa Rica, Cuba, St. Kitts, El Salvador,
Jamaica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Dominican
Republic, Trinidad & Tobago, Cayman Islands,
Belize and hosts Guatemala.
Mrs. Marta Centeno de Sajche gave the welcoming
speech expressing that “on behalf of the
President of NORCECA, Mr. Cristobal Marte, I
have the honor to present the media with the
fourth stop of NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour in
Guatemala”. She remarked the importance the tour
has accomplished in only four years, giving
points for the ranking of the region, besides
qualification points to the Central American and
Caribbean Games, Pan American Games and Olympic
Games.
The program of activities include the opening
ceremony with the participation of the Major of
Guatemala City, the Technical Meeting on
Thursday and the start of the competition on
Friday 9 beginning at 8:00 a.m.
