Argentina got first victory in Pan Am Cup

JUAN, Puerto Rico, July 3, 2006.-
The attack of Argentina was too much for Barbados and
finally the South Americans won their first match in the Women’s Pan
American Cup. In just 54 minutes, Argentina won the match by score
of 25-13, 25-6, 25-19. The Argentineans were positive in 46 of 74
kills tries led by Melisa Callo who went 13-for-16 in route to 19
points. The splendid overall match of Callo included 4 serving aces
and two blocks. Antonella Bertolozzi contributed to the victory with
12 points and Julieta Lazcano and Natalia Espinosa each had 8
points. Coach Carlos Di Lonardo kept regulars Mirna Ansaldi and
captain Viviana Dominko on the bench during the third set.
