Canada won a five-setter and finished in seventh place

Canada edged Venezuela in a thrilling five-setter and
finished in seventh place at the Women’s Pan American Cup. The
Canadians had to battle against a brave Venezuelan side that came
from behind to force the tie-breaker after losing the first two
sets. The score was 25-17, 25-21, 21-25, 20-25, 19-17 and the match
lasted 1 hour and 57 minutes. Stacey Gordon led four Canadians in
double figures with 25 points. Tiffany Dodds, Shelley Chalmers and
Lies Reimer had 12, 11 and 10 respectively. Jayce Andrade with 28
points and Desiree Glod, who added 22, carried out the load of the
Venezuelan’s offense.
Veronica Gomez added 13 points.
