SAN SALVADOR, July 5, 2008.- Guatemala defeated El Salvador and finished in the seventh position of the U-21 Norceca Men’s Continental Championship which closes today.

Andy Leonardo with his 19 points led the attack in the 25-18, 25-10, 26-24 victory, with a well battled third set that in a moment seemed like the first won by the Salvadorians in the tournament.

“I am satisfied with the job from by my boys, we have improved but there is still a lot to be done,” said Jorge Paz, the coach of Guatemala.

“We need to scout more taller players, the work ahead is tough to elevate the level,” he added.

Another placer in double figures for the Guatemalans was Moisés Reyes with 12.

The best of El Salvador was Raul Trujillo with 9 points and Wilfredo Alvarez had 6.
