WINNIPEG, Canada, June 2, 2008.- The last match
of the night featured the proven United States
against the 61 ranked Costa Rica. The game ended
after three sets, with a score of 25-15, 25-18,
25-17 in favor of the United States.
With a start of 7-0 in the second set, the United
States kept the momentum and finished the game in
60 minutes. The tall United States team did not
give any chance to the Costa Rican players.
Evan Patak from United States got a total of 11
points, while his teammate Nathan Meerstein got 10
points.
“For a team that did not practice a lot together
before this tournament, we picked up a lot of
things on the fly” stated Coach Alan Knipe. “We
did a lot of things right and a lot of the players
got to play. We are looking forward playing again
tomorrow.” |
