WINNIPEG, Canada, June 3, 2008.- Trinidad & Tobago
put up a great fight against Dominican Republic
for their second match. Despite all their efforts
on the court, they could not manage to steal a set
from the Dominican team. Set scores were 25-17,
22-22, 27-25, in favor of Dominican Republic.
Trinidad & Tobago had a lot of chances in the
third set but could not close the deal. Dominican
Republic kept reposting to their attempt until
they got those two needed points to end the set.
Jose Caceres was the main scorer for Dominican
Republic with 16 points. His teammates Victor
Batista and Elvis Contreras respectively cumulated
12 and 11 points. Marc Anthony Honore from
Trinidad and Tobago scored a total of 13 points.
Dominican Republic coach, Jacinto Campechano,
wanted to congratulate the other team: “Trinidad
and Tobago worked really hard tonight. They
improve every time they play and I think they can
become a very strong team. We know it will be a
battle every time we play them!”.
The coach of Trinidad and Tobago thanked
Campechano and add: “My team played well tonight
and I am pleased with the progress they are
making. I am looking forward to play against
Puerto Rico tomorrow”. |
