WINNIPEG, Canada, June 4, 2008.- Team Mexico
downed Costa Rica in 3 straight sets tonight, to
finish second of pool A. Set scores were 25-19,
29-27, 25-17, for the Mexican crew.
Costa Rica came very close from stealing the
second set but could not close the deal. Mexico
benefited from the errors of their opponents and
went all the way to the top. The game lasted 73
minutes.
The best scorer of the game was Francisco Enriquez
from Mexico, with 14 points. He was followed by
his colleague Irving Bricio, who got 11 points and
by the Costa Rican Jeffery Calderon Orozco, 11
points.
“I am pleased about the way the game went on. We
did a good job at the end of the match. Now, we
have to focus about tomorrow’s game. We need to
reduce our number of mistakes in order to be
competitive” said Coach Jorge Azair of Mexico.
