“Colima a friendly city with passion for volleyball”
COLIMA, Mexico, June 20, 2007.- The Governor of Colima offered a
welcome reception to all participants of the Sixth Women’s Pan
American Cup gathered up at the Central Square of the City on a
night crowned by one spectacular fireworks show.
Mr. Jesus Cavazos Ceballos, in the company of local municipal
authorities and executives of the NORCECA and the South American
Volleyball Confederations, pronounced a speech where he remarked
the hospitality of the people of Colima and their passion for
volleyball.
He repeatedly welcomed the delegations and invited players and
delegates to enjoy the friendly environment of this city in the
southwest of Mexico.
Groups of cheerleaders in folkloric attire gave to the occasion a
special touch, chanting in favour of the twelve teams
participating in the event starting on Thursday.
After the ceremony, Governor Cavazos Ceballos invited the
delegates and special guests to visit his offices located at the
Government Palace, a well maintained colonial building, where he
talked about good life conditions of people in the State of
Colima, the high level of employment and the low rate of
criminality.
At the end of the visit, he posed for pictures accompanied by Mr.
Cristobal Marte Hoffiz and Professor Alejandro Salinas de la
Garza, presidents of NORCECA and the Mexican Federation
respectively.
