beat Trinidad & Tobago for seventh place
GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, May 1, 2010 – Canada
finished in seventh place in the NORCECA Girls’
Youth Continental Tournament after scoring a
25-16, 25-12, 25-22 victory over Trinidad &
Tobago on Saturday.
The Canadian tandem of Megan Festival and Alexa
Gray recorded 10 points apiece while Kacey Otto
tallied 8. Trinidadian Channon Thompson, the
tournament scoring champion, had a match-high 14
points.
“We were not lucky being seeded in Pool C where
we had to play the strongest teams,” said Jesse
Knight, the Canadian coach who praised the
ability of Trinidadian Thompson and her natural
tools for the game of volleyball.
