Joachim, Rico and Hosein honoured in Aruba
ORANJESTAD, Aruba, October 27, 2007.- Jacques Joachim and Ramon
Rico, two of the founders of the NORCECA Confederation, along with
the late Raphael Hosein, were honoured during the opening session
of the Nineteenth NORCECA Congress held in the capital of Aruba.
Mr. Cristobal Marte, President of NORCECA, presented Mr. Joachim
of Haiti and Mr. Rico of Netherlands Antilles, with plaques as
also to Mr. Mushtaque Mohammed who represented the Hosein family
of Trinidad & Tobago.
Professor Alejandro Salinas, executive vice president of NORCECA,
made important comments about the contributions made by these
gentlemen to the Confederation and to volleyball in their
respective countries.
Mr. Joachim is honorary vice president of the NORCECA
Confederation and until recently he was a member of the Board of
Administration of FIVB. Rico and Hosein presided over the National
Federations of Netherlands Antilles and Trinidad & Tobago
respectively.
