MONTELIMAR, Nicaragua, October 28, 2009 – All
the details related to the last leg of the III
NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit were announced
today during a press conference chaired by Mr.
Nelson Ramirez, Executive Director of the
Confederation, and Mrs. Bertha Cuadra, President
of the Nicaraguan Volleyball Federation.
It will be the first time that Nicaragua host an
event of the Beach Volleyball Circuit one to be
staged on the sands of Montelimar with the
participation of duos from Nicaragua, Costa
Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, United States,
Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Mexico and
Jamaica.
“NORCECA is very enthusiastic with this event
which is the first organized by Nicaragua and we
feel grateful about the job done by the National
Federation. We are confident that we will be
watching a great competitive level with the
athletes competing for the highest positions,”
said Ramirez.
The event concludes a successful year for the
continental Beach Volleyball which had eight
tournaments during 2009. The competition had
stops in Cayman Islands, Guatemala, Dominican
Republic, Jamaica and three events in Mexico.
The tournaments of the 2009 Circuit started the
continental qualifying process to the Olympic
Games of 2012 in London and also to the XXI
Central American and Caribbean Games of 2010 in
Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.
