SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, September

2009 – The Coaches Course Level I organized by
the FIVB Regional Development Center in
Dominican Republic was completed last Saturday
with the presentation of the certificates of
approval during the closing ceremony presided
over by Professor Carlos Diaz Bancalari of
Argentina.
Twenty five coaches took part of the course
which included 28 hours of practical
instructions and 30 of theoretical classes for a
total of 58 hours. Cuban Justo Morales assisted
Diaz Bancalari during the week-long course.
Peruvian Arturo Giambini received a special
award as best student of the course, and Puerto
Rican Jerry Orsini and Guatemalan Juan Pablo
Castañeda were also recognized.
The participants were from Bahamas, Belize,
Bonaire, Curacao, Dominican Republic, El
Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Haiti, Montserrat,
Nicaragua, Peru, Puerto Rico, Saint Martin,
Saint Vincent and Trinidad & Tobago.
Dr. Andres Piña del Rosario, member of the FIVB
Medical Commission, Dr. Roosevelt Comarazamy,
FIVB Press Officer for Norceca, Mr. Tony Mesa,
Technical Manager of the Dominican Republic
Olympic Committee, and Mr. Eddy Gonzalez, Vice
Director of the Regional Center, attended the
closing ceremony.
