October
19, 2004,–The
Dominican Republic National Federation received
a group of more than 60 enthusiastic parents
interested in a volleyball sport career for
their daughters between the ages of 12-14.
Mr. Cristobal Marte, President of the
Federation’s Women National Project, made a
detailed presentation centered on the advantage
of having volleyball as the preferred sport for
their daughters.
Marte emphasized the fact that through the
program of the Dominican Federation the players
can have the coverage of school cost, food and
transportation as also other additional
benefits.
“It is a chance to pursue a professional career
in volleyball and also obtain an educational
degree,” said Marte. “Volleyball is a sport with
no physical contact and offer a lot of
opportunities.”
“Today we are taking a major step toward the
Olympic Games of 2012,” said Marte. “I believe
that some girls of this group will be part of
our squad wherever the Games will take place.”
