Puerto Rico is committed with Marte Hoffiz Candidacy

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, April 11, 2005.- The Puerto Rican Volleyball Federation announced its commitment with the candidacy of Dominican Mr. Cristobal Marte Hoffiz to a new four-year term at the helm of the North, Central America and Caribbean Confederation (NORCECA).

In a press release dispatched by the Puerto Rican Federation, President Mr. Carlos Beltran stated that “we are committed to support the Confederation with all our resources and the great work done by Mr. Cristobal Marte as its President.” Beltran added that “we have presented candidates for the different Working Commissions within NORCECA.”

NORCECA will conduct general elections during its Thirteenth Congress to be held in October 22-23 at Punta Cana Beach in the Dominican Republic. The FPV became one of the first Federations affiliated to NORCECA to grant its support for the re-election of the Dominican Marte Hoffiz.

Puerto Rico also presented the name of Mr. Beltran as a candidate for the Board of Administration. For the first time, the NORCECA Confederation will conduct open elections where each Federation can present candidates for the Presidency or any other positions. Recently, Mr. Marte Hoffiz thanked the FPV for its support in presenting him as candidate for a new term as President of the Confederation.

 The Puerto Rican Federation also presented candidates for the Commissions of Sports Organization, Medical, Technical and Coaches, Beach Volleyball, Refereeing, Marketing, Finance and Media.
