December 13,2004,-Dominican Kenia Moreta is
making a big splash in her first year
playing in the A-2 Division of the Italian
Volleyball League for Burro Virgilio
Gabbioli Curtatone Club.
Moreta has been instrumental in the streak
of four consecutive victories for the
Curtatone squad which evened its record at
5-5.
The 1.91 has an average of 14.5 points per
match with a season high of 21 scored in the
3-2 triumph over Formarina Cevitanova.
This Sunday, the Curtatone team defeated
Perma Corplast Corridonia 3-1 with Moreta
scoring 15 points.
In the previous match, Kenia had 13 points
in the 3-2 victory over Altamura. With the
tie-breaker evened at 9-all, Moreta scored
with a block and followed with a powerful
spike to put her team in the path to the
triumph.
Meanwhile, Yudelkis Bautista has double
figures in four of her last five matches in
the A-1 Division playing for Modena, which
has a 2-8 record.
On Sunday, the 1.93 Bautista had 13 spikes
and two aces good for 15 points in the
victory of Modena 3-1 over Pallavolo Churi.
Her season high is 16 points in the 2-3 loss
against Terra Sarda Tortoli.
In the Russian League, Milagros Cabral is
averaging 18 points per match for the
Samorodok team in Khabarovsk.
Her team has a 3-2 record in the new
circuit. |
