Vision 2012 Plan presented within
NORCECA
SANTO DOMINGO, February 19, 2006.-
The World Vision 2012 Program for
the NORCECA Confederation was
presented today by Mr. Nelson
Ramirez during the meeting of the
Technical and Coaches Commission.
Mr. Ramirez, who is the director of
the FIVB Regional Development Center
in the Dominican Republic, informed
the members about all the courses
and seminars projected to be
conducted by the institution under
his direction for the next seven
years. It includes objectives of
short, medium and long terms.
He also presented a report of the
activities during the year 2005 that
included a Seminar of Sport Medicine
directed by Dr. Annie Peytavin,
president of the Medical Commission
of FIVB.
Also, a course for candidates to
international referees conducted by
Alexander Muhle of Germany and
Sergei Titov of Russia, and a Level
III Coaches Course under the
direction of Max Meier of
Switzerland, Gilberto Herrera of
Cuba and Carlos Diaz Bancalari of
Argentina.
He emphasized on the work done by
the Development Center and its
facilities and the use of it given
by national teams of different
countries including Haiti Men
Juniors, Colombia, Guatemala, Canada
and Cuba women teams and Puerto Rico
men before their participation in
several competitions of 2005.
The meeting was attended by Mr.
Cristobal Marte, president of
NORCECA, Eugenio George (CUB),
president of Commission and its
Secretary John Kessel of USA. Also
Lorne Sawula and Mark Tennant of
Canada, Miguel Beato of Dominican
Republic, Israel Garcia of Puerto
Rico, Rene Quintana of Nicaragua,
Braulio Godinez of Costa Rica and
Francisco Cruz of Cuba.
