USA’s Rhamat Alhassan the MVP at Women’s U-20 NORCECA  

GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, July 13, 2014.-  USA’s Middle Blocker Rhamat Alhassan was selected as the Most Valuable Player of the Women’s NORCECA Continental Championship whose effectiveness over the net played an important role for the Americans Gold Medal.  Alhassan Rhamat was joined in the awarding ceremony by teammates Courtney Schawan as the Best Spiker, Jordyn Poulter as the Best Setter and Molly Sauer who was appointed as Best Receiver and Best Digger.  More  Español

USA wins Gold at NORCECA U-20 Women’s Continental Championship

Dominicans claim NORCECA U-20 Bronze Medal

GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, July 13, 2014. -  Dominican Republic dominated Mexico in straight sets 25-17, 25-16, 25-19 to win the Women’s U-20 NORCECA Continental Bronze Medal on Sunday at Teodoro Palacios Flores Gymnasium. Mexico put up a strong resistance against Dominican Republic with both teams aiming for the podium, but in the end the scale went in favor of the Caribbean team.  More  Español

Mexico to battle Cuba at NORCECA U-20 Semifinal

GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, July 11, 2014.- Mexico defeated Costa Rica 25-10, 25-12, 25-16 and will battle against Cuba on Saturday’s semifinal of the Women’s U-20 NORCECA Continental Championship at Teodoro Palacios Flores Gymnasium. Mexico dominated Costa Rica with effectiveness over the net, as they hold control of the actions on their side of the court. GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, July 11, 2014. -  Dominican Republic downed Guatemala on Friday’s quarterfinal 3-0 (25-4, 25- 25-4, 25-2) to reach the Women’s U-20 NORCECA Continental Championship Semifinals. The Dominicans stayed in command the entire straight set victory and will meet with United States con Saturday’s semifinal looking to defend their title, but mostly for one of the tickets available for the 2015 FIVB World Championship. GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, July 11, 2014. - Nicaragua beat St. Lucia 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-21) for their first win at the Women’s U-20 NORCECA Continental Championship at Teodoro Palacios Flores Gymnasium. The straight set victory earned Nicaragua the right to play Martinique on Saturday for seventh place. Costa Rica prevails over Guatemala in five set thriller

GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, July 10, 2014.-  Costa Rica prevailed over hosts Guatemala 3-2 (25-17, 25-20, 22-25, 21-25, 15-8) on Thursday night at the Women’s U-20 NORCECA Continental Championship at Teodoro Palacios Flores Gymnasium. Costa Rica couldn’t seal the Central American classic in three sets with Guatemala extending the match to a five set thriller in front of more than 1000 spectators. GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, July 10, 2014. -  United States won first place of Pool C at the Women’s U-20 NORCECA Continental Championship defeating Mexico 3-0 (25-5, 25-21, 25-18) at Teodoro Palacios Flores Gymnasium in Guatemala City. USA jumped to an easy start in the first set, without any difficulties as Mexico showed insecurity. The next two sets had longer rallies while Mexico’s offensive over the net produced more points. GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, July 8, 2014. – Hosts Guatemala debuted defeating Martinique 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-17) at opening day of the Women’s U-20 NORCECA Continental Championship at Teodoro Palacios Flores Gymnasium. Guatemala had a slow start but with an important victory over Martinique in Pool B. The home team had a considerable amount of fans cheering with drums and horns, motivating each scoring point.
