Argentina’s Corbalán MVP of Gatorade Cup
LIMA, Peru, May 10, 2015 – Argentina’s Maria Corbalan
claimed the honors as the Most Valuable Player of the Final
Four U18 Girls’ Gatorade Cup won by her side with an
undefeated record in four outings at Niño Heroe Manuel
Bonilla Coliseum of Miraflores in Lima. Corbalan, who led
Argentina with 22 points in the decisive victory in five
sets over the Dominican Republic on Sunday, was also the
best server of the four-team tournament.

Argentina win Gatorade Cup in Lima
LIMA, Peru, May 10, 2015 – Argentina overcame a resilient
Dominican Republic to claim the gold medal at the Final Four
U18 Girls’ Gatorade Cup with a 3-2 (25-18, 25-21, 17-25,
21-25, 15-9) victory at Niño Héroe Manuel Bonilla Coliseum
on Sunday. It is the third tournament won by the Argentinean
side added to the victories at the U18 Pan American Cup in
Havana, Cuba and the Invitational Baja California Cup in
Mexico earlier this year. Both Argentina and Dominican
Republic.

Peru get bronze medal at home
LIMA, Peru, May 10, 2015 – Peru claimed the bronze medal at
the Final Four U18 Girls’ Gatorade Cup with a 3-1 (25-22,
25-22, 18-25, 25-19) victory over Baja California of Mexico
on Sunday. Nicole Abreu led Peru with 19 points while
Katherine Regalado and Leslie Leyva chipped in with 13 and
10 points, respectively, in the victory. Veronica Gomez and
Daniela De la Torre had 16 and 15 points for Baja
California. The Peruvian girls led the blocking category for
the match 8-5 .

Dominicans win sensational duel against Peru
LIMA, Peru, May 9, 2015 – The Dominican Republic won a
sensational duel with hosts Peru to advance to an encounter
with undefeated Argentina for the gold medal at the Final
Four U18 Volleyball Girls’ Gatorade Cup on Sunday. Massiel
Matos scored a tournament-high 32 points to lead the
Dominican Republic to a nail-biting 3-2 (25-22, 23-25,
21-25, 25-21, 17-15).

Argentina continues winning streak at Gatorade Cup
LIMA,
Peru, May 9, 2015 – Argentina team continued unstoppable
while claiming their third victory without losses at the
Final Four U18 Volleyball Girls’ Gatorade Cup on Saturday.
The South American side did a quick job against Baja
California of Mexico winning in straight sets 3-0 (25-13,
25-19, 25-14) in just 72 minutes.

Argentina sweeps Peru at Gatorade Cup
LIMA, Peru, May 9, 2015 – Argentina outclassed Peru in
straight sets 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 25-19) in just 1 hour and
17 minutes in day two at the Final Four U18 Gatorade Cup at
Niño Heroe Manuel Bonilla Coliseum of Miraflores. Agostina
Betramino scored 11 points to lead Argentina followed by
Anahí Tosí and María Corbalán with 10 points apiece. The
Argentineans led in attacks by an overwhelming difference of
31-14 and held an 8-6 advantage in blocks.

Dominicans prevails against tough Baja California
LIMA, Peru, May 9, 2015 – Dominican Republic edged Baja
California in five sets 3-2 (25-21, 18-25, 25-15, 19-25, 15-10)
in day two at the Final Four U18 Gatorade Cup at Niño Heroe
Manuel Bonilla Coliseum of Miraflores in 2 hours and two
minutes.
Massiel Matos was the best scorer for the winners with 24 points
while Lisbeth Rosario and Vielka Peralta finished.

LIMA, Peru, May 7, 2015 – Peru claimed their first victory
at the Final Four U18 Gatorade Cup by sweeping Baja
California of Mexico 3-0 (26-24, 25-12, 25-22) in 1 hour and
30 minutes in a vibrant duel al Niño Héroe Manuel Bonilla
Coliseum of Miraflores. The top scorers for the winning side
were Katherine Regalado and Nicole Abreu with 14 and 10
points, respectively.

the Final Four U18 Gatorade Cup by defeating the Dominican
Republic 3-1 at Niño Héroe Manuel Bonilla Coliseum in
Miraflores, Lima. The scores were 25-9, 27-25, 21-25, 25-23
in 1 hour and 40 minutes. María Corbalán totaled 20 points
in the victory, followed by Candelaria Herrera and Anahí
Tosi with 13 points apiece and Agostina Beltramino with 10.
Massiel Matos had 25 points.

Gatorade Cup to be contested between hosts Peru, Argentina,
Dominican Republic and Baja California of Mexico runs from May 7
to 10 at Manuel Bonilla Coliseum of Lima, the Peruvian capital.
The event, organized by the Peruvian Volleyball Federation with
the approval from the Volleyball Pan American Union, is a
warm-up competition ahead.
