Puerto Rico and Cuba complete the teams qualified to the 2018
World Championship
PINAR DEL RÍO, Cuba, November 12, 2017 - Puerto Rico and Cuba
claimed the last two tickets for the FIVB Men's World
Championship 2018 at the NORCECA Group B Qualifying Tournament,
which ended with a sensational match between the two teams and a
three-way tie that included Mexico all with 10 points. After the
needed 3-0 sensational victory of Cuba over Puerto Rico (25-21,
25-22, 30-28), the two top placed were decided by points-ratio
with Puerto Rico.

Mexico got the needed 3-0 against Guatemala
PINAR DEL RÍO, Cuba, November 12, 2017 - Mexico beat Guatemala
in straight sets 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-22), but will not know if
that is enough for a World Championship ticket until the end of
the decisive clash Puerto Rico-Cuba, which closes the NORCECA
Group B Tournament, the last qualifier for the FIVB Men's World
Championship 2018. However the Mexicans are in a favorable

Mexico swept and push Cuba against the wall
PINAR DEL RÍO, Cuba, November 11, 2017 - Mexico led an
aggressive and consistent game to beat Cuba in straight sets 3-0
(25-17, 25-23, 25-23), so the winners of of the last two tickets
awarded by this NORCECA Group B Qualifying Tournament for the
2018 World Championship will be defined on Sunday.
The visitors controlled the powerful service of the home team,

Cuba beats Guatemala to complete Day One at Pinar del Rio
PINAR DEL RIO, Cuba, November 10, 2017 – Host Cuba beat
Guatemala in straight sets 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-17) in the
first day of NORCECA B Qualification Final Tournament of the
FIVB 2018 Men’s World Championship on Friday. Miguel Lopez
Castro and Marlon Yang Herrera were the most aggressive weapons
for the Cuban side finishing with 17 and 12 points,
respectively. Lopez Castro included four services winners among
their tally. Andy Leonardo was the top Guatemalan scorer with 15
points.

Coaches comment ahead of start of the final tournament
PINAR DEL RIO, Cuba, November 9, 2017.-
The technical directors of the teams aiming to the last two
tickets for the FIVB Men's World Championship 2018 expressed
their impressions ahead of the Qualification Tournament, group
B, of NORCECA, to be played at November 19 Hall of the
westernmost Cuban province.

"Several players could not make the trip because of commitments
with their clubs and they had already made an effort to go to
Colorado Springs, but it was unsuccessful because of Hurricane
Maria, only one will attend, but the focus is the group.

United States Captures NORCECA Title with Sweep of Dominican
Republic
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado, October 1, 2017 – The United
States won the NORCECA Championship with a 25-17, 25-10, 25-12
victory over Dominican Republic on Sunday at the U.S. Olympic
Training Center.
The United States finished the tournament with a 5-0 record.
Dominican Republic finished 3-2. The United States has now won
the NORCECA Championship nine times.
