Puerto Ricans Santiago and Yantin continue strong
BOCA CHICA, Dominican Republic, April 7, 2012 – Puerto Rico’s
Yarleen Santiago and Yamileska Yantin will play against Mexico’s
Vanessa Virgen and Martha Revuelta in one of the women’s
semifinals of the Boca Chica Beach Volleyball Tournament by
Presidente on Sunday.
The other semifinal features the clash between Canada’s Jamie
Broder and Kristina Valjas and Costa Rica’s Ingrid Morales and
Natalia Alfaro.
The teams of Puerto Rico, Mexico and Costa Rica won their pool
matches on early Saturday before prevailing in the quarterfinals
phase.
Santiago/Yantin defeated El Salvador’s Diana Romero and Marcela
Avalos 21-10, 21-14,Virgen/Revuelta won 21-14, 21-16 over
Kaitlin Sather and Jessica Gysin of USA, Morales Alfaro defeated
Dominican Republic’s Diana Peguero and Nairobi Agramonte and
Broder/Valjas downed Stefany Bolaños and Lourdes Ramirez of
Guatemala 21-9, 21-14.
The semifinals are scheduled at 11:00 am local time. All the
medal matches will be on national television through Telecentro
Channel 13 and RNN Channel 28 and will be available in many
cities of the Atlantic Coast of United States.
