Dominican Winifer Fernandez wins MVP Honors at NORCECA U-20

MANAGUA, Nicaragua, August 26, 2012. - Dominican Winifer Fernandez was selected as the Most Valuable Player of the NORCECA Women’s Junior Continental Championship.

Fernandez, who also took home the trophy as the best digger, the best receiver and the best libero, was the most awarded player during the closing ceremony.

Dominican Republic’s players also claimed the titles for best scorer by Brayelin Martinez and best blocker by Angelica Hinojosa.

Cuba´s Sulian Matienzo was the best spiker and teammate Marilyn Pages the best setter. Maria Alvarez of Guatemala took the title for best server.
