Bethania led Russian League in aces

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, March 23, 2020 - Bethania de la Cruz's powerful services remain as effective as ever in terms of speed, location and movement.

The Dominican player for team Dynamo Kazan in the Russian Super League was the top figure in the circuit's aces department, something she had also achieved in the 2011 World Cup and in several international competitions.

De la Cruz hammered 32 aces that earned her the first place in Russia and helped Kazan to finish 14-2 on the regular round. The playoff series has been interrupted due to the current Coronavirus with Kazan one victory away of the final series.

The Dominican was one of several Kazan players who finished at the top of the individual scoring offensive categories.

Russia's Irina Koroleva was the best blocker at 1.14 per set and also had the highest average hitting success of all players with at least 50 spikes with 60 percent average.

On the other hand, Croatian Samantha Fabris had the best scoring average in the league with 6.24 per set.

Meanwhile, Russia's Ksenia Parubets of the Uralochka team was the most prolific scorer and biggest attacker on the regular round with 340 points, including 298 were successful spikes.
