Brenda stands out as best libero in Brazilian League

 

BAURU, Brazil, March 10, 2017 – Stellar Brenda Castillo of Dominican Republic continues to show her outstanding defensive abilities as the diminutive athlete leads all libero players in the Brazilian Women’s Super League 2016-17.

 

Playing for Genter Volei Bauru and coached by Marcos Kwiek his mentor in the Dominican Republic team, Castillo ranks as the defensive queen with a 57.05 percentage of defenses.

 

Brenda, who is considered the heart and soul of the Dominican squad, leads the category by a wide margin as Thasia Silva of Dentil/Praia Clube is a distant second with an average of 42.8.

 

Camila Brait of Sollys/Osasco and Leia Silva of Minas Clube are next with 38.0 and 37.0, respectively.

 

The Dominican Castillo, who has excelled as best libero in the Azerbaijan League, many NORCECA and Pan American competitions, the CEV Champions League and the London Olympic Games, has also the best percentage in receptions with a 59.0 percentage.
