Canadians McBain and Tresham enjoy good start

PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic, September 13, 2019 – Canadians Molly McBain and Becky Tresham were successful in their two outings during opening day of the Punta Cana Beach Volleyball Tournament, the sixth stage of the 2019 NORCECA Circuit.

In Pool C, McBain and Tresham started off with a 2-0 (21-15, 21-8) victory over Rheeza Grant and Malika Davidson of Trinidad & Tobago and capped Friday with an identical 2-0 (21-15, 21-8) over Dominican Republic’s Michelle De la Cruz and Julibeth Payano.

In Pool B, Americans Geena Urango and Emily Hartong defeated Curacao’s Angjeny Tolentino and Leandra Savonije 2-0 (21-17, 21-8) and then demolished Anguilla’s Janai Gumbs and Rikiesha Leveret 2-0 (21-3, 21-1).

In the Pool A of three teams, Mexico’s Zaira Orellana and Martha Revuelta opened the actions in the morning with a 2-0 (21-18, 21-11) over Puerto Rico’s María González and Bianca Torres.
