Control Committee members hold meetings in Tijuana and Mexicali
BAJA CALIFORNIA, Mexico, June 25 2013 — The cities of Tijuana
and Mexicali received the Control Committee members that already
held their coordination meetings prior to the FIVB Boys’ U19
Volleyball World Championship.
The first joint meeting took place in Tijuana, where on behalf
of FIVB President Dr. Ary Graça, the Control Committee President
and FIVB Vice President, Rafael Lloreda welcomed the attendants
from many countries who will work in different areas such as
refereeing, press, appeals, competition, VIS and Medical, for
example.
Also the local organizing committee representatives based in
Tijuana and Mexicali were presented by the Baja California
Sports and Physical Culture Institute authorities, directed by
Saul Castro Verdugo.
“We are very sure that this world championship will be a big
success and we are here to cooperate to give our best for this
tournament in a place where its people is recognized for their
efforts and great experience in hosting international sport
events,” said Lloreda.
After the assignments of the personnel to every host city the
inspection visits to the different training courts and
competition venues took place. There were two practical clinics
for referees, one in Tijuana and another in Mexicali.
In Tijuana there was also a rehearsal of the opening ceremony
scheduled for this thursday at the High Performance Center,
where many teams have held a mini-camp with some scrimmage
matches prior to the beginning of the World Championship. |
