Dominican Natalia Martinez named MVP of the NORCECA U20
FORT LAUDERDALE, United States, July 31, 2016. - Natalia
Martinez of Dominican Republic was named the Most Valuable
Player MVP of the NORCECA Women’s U-20 Continental Championship
at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Natalia Martinez received the individual award from the hands of
Cristobal Marte Hoffiz NORCECA President and FIVB First
Executive Vice-President, during the awarding ceremony after her
team was crowned champion and booked the ticket to the FIVB
age-group 2017 World Championship.
Dominican Republic had other two players with an individual
recognitions; Geraldine Gonzalez was awarded as 1st
Best Blocker and Massiel Matos as Best Opposite and Best Server.
From the silver medalist team United States, Alexis Sun was the
1st Best Spiker and Brionne Butler was awarded as 2nd
Best Blocker.
Puerto Ricans Jeshimarie Suarez was granted the awards of Best
Digger and Best Libero, Andrea Fuentes as Best Setter and
Dariana Hollingsworth the Best Scorer of the tournament.
Bronze medalist Diaris Perez of Cuba was the Best Receiver and 2nd
Best Spiker.
