Dominican Republic clinches spot in U18 World Championship
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, September 6, 2016 - Dominican Republic
qualified to its seventh FIVB U-18 World Championship by beating
Mexico 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-21) to advance to the gold medal
match at the NORCECA Continental Championship.
Natalia Martinez of Dominican Republic was the best scorer of
the match with 19 points.
"We achieved the first objective which was to qualify for the
World Championship and now celebrate a little in the clubhouse
and prepare the strategy for the final," said Alexandre Ceccatto,
coach of the Dominican Republic.
The Dominican Republic will defend the title achieved two years
ago in tomorrow’s final and clinched a spot for the 2017 World
Championship in Argentina. |
