MANAGUA, Nicaragua, October 19,
2021- El Salvador achieved its second victory
due to a defeat, beating Panama 3-0 (26-24,
25-13, 25-21) in the second game of the third
day of the XXI Central American Senior Women's
Volleyball Cup.
Adriana Flores, Salvadoran captain, led her
teammates with 17 points, while Gabriela Funes
contributed 13 units, with Tatiana Menjivar

points, out of a total of 9. For Panama, Haslyn
Cuero and Elena Berrocal achieved 5 points.
El Salvador was superior in attack 39-22 and

blocking by two of their opponents.
The first set was very fought by both squads,
maintaining parity in almost the entire set,
defining themselves with two errors by the
Panamanians in attack and pass.
From then on, the Salvadorans took control,
causing damage with the service, which caused
Panama to fail to achieve effective attacks.
In the last set, Panama tried Cuero and captain
Johana Arroyo, however their aspirations fell
short, because they ran into a very concentrated
Salvadoran squad and Funes scoring six points in
that frame.
On Wednesday El Salvador will play at 1:00 p.m.
against Belize, who also got a win in their
second game. Panama has rest. |
