Executive Committee and Board conclude two-day meetings in Santo Domingo

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, March 8, 2020 – The Executive Committee and Board of Administration of NORCECA completed a full agenda following their annual two-day ordinary meetings in Santo Domingo.

Under the presidency of Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, the members of the two bodies received the reports and proposals from the different commissions and discussed some relevant aspect regarding the institution which groups 41 National Federations and Territories.

The members were presented with the projected budget for 2020 and 2021 and received updated information regarding the electoral Congress to be held next June in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, which marks the 50th anniversary of the NORCECA Confederation.

Also they were informed about the FIVB new ranking system for senior teams and how it operates taking in consideration the results of all the matches and odds and of the Youth Pan American Games to be held in Cali, Colombia in 2021.

Nelson Ramirez, director of the NORCECA/FIVB Development Center in Dominican Republic presented a summary of the 2019 activities and of the 2020 program.

The Executive Committee and Board of Administration also received details of the competition calendars of beach volleyball and volleyball for 2020, including a proposal to add four tournaments of beach volleyball in Central America and one more in Dominican Republic which would increase to 15 the number of events.

 During the two-day meetings, they received notice of the electoral assemblies of the four zonal associations within the confederation and of their competition calendars for 2020.

Among those attending the meetings were: President Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, Lucille Hobson, second executive vice president, Jose Luis Jimenez, general secretary, Wilbur Harrigan, treasurer, Mushtaque Mohammed, Glenn Quinlan and Mark Eckert, zone presidents, and Mireya Luis Hernández, Felix Sabio, Ariel Sainz and Jamie Davis, members.

Also, Arateide Caceres, general director, Olga Rivas, director of Finance, Miguelina Martinez, chief internal accountant, Indhira Ramirez, director of beach volleyball, Julissa Claris, coordinator of sport events, Cayacoa Moquete, director of Info & technology and Roosevelt Comarazamy, director of communications.
