LAUSANNE, Switzerland, July 30, 2020 – FIVB President Dr Ary S.
Graça F° today announced the launch of the FIVB Development
Projects Platform 2020, with applications opening from 1 August
2020.
The opening of the Projects Platform, which aims to advance the
level of national teams worldwide, is a clear demonstration of
the FIVB’s steadfast commitment to the development of
volleyball, even during challenging times. The platform provides
all 222 of the FIVB’s National Federations (NFs) with the
opportunity to request funding for projects designed to improve
the level of national teams through the supply of coaching,
volleyball equipment or high-level coach the coaches clinics.
In a video message to the Volleyball Family the FIVB President
said:
“I believe that now more than ever, we should be united and
support each other. Investment into our beloved sport must not
stop, even with the financial difficulties we are now facing.
So, thanks to the good governance and administration of our
sport, we can use our great financial results of 2019 to
continue to invest into our sport. As I have said many times,
the money that comes from sport should go back into sport! That
is why, I am delighted to announce that the FIVB Projects
Platform will be open from 1 August 2020 for all 222 National
Federations!”
Overall, since 2017, the FIVB has approved a total of 276
projects from 158 NFs, totalling an investment of almost 2.9
million USD into the development of volleyball and beach
volleyball. Of these 276 projects, 97 were for coaching support
and 148 were for volleyball equipment support. In total, the
FIVB has provided its NFs with 8015 balls, 23 floors and 40 net
systems for volleyball courts.

months until 30 September 2020. All approved projects will then
be delivered the year after the submission of applications in
