Felix Sabio, who will assume his position in January 1st 2020, gave his first statement in a message for the National Volleyball Federations of Central America.

“Today, recently elected as AFECAVOL President, I am fulfilling a dream that began when in the nineties I represented Honduras playing in several national teams until 2010 when I became President of my National Federation and with the same energy I now reach the highest distinction that a person in our sport can achieve in our region.

I am committed to work for the union of volleyball in Central America by creating spaces that will allow us to become in a dynamic, profitable and self-sustainable institution in harmony with the North Central and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation NORCECA, our governing body at a continental level and those of the International Volleyball Federation FIVB governing body of volleyball worldwide”.

I deeply appreciate the confidence of my fellow presidents of Central America’s Volleyball Federations, that of NORCECA President Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, our Director of National Federerations Arateide Caceres, of AFECAVOL President Edgar Alvarado Ardon, General Secretary Jose Luis Jimenez Lao and of each and every one who has contributed in my development as a leader; I cannot leave out my National Federation (athletes, sport leaders, coaches, referees, parents) and a special thanks to my family for their patience and support in this new challenge that I know that together we will endeavor in the best way.

In the next days we will be analyzing the best way to handle our institution and set the guidelines that will allow us to reach AFECAVOL goals and that of each of our affiliated National Federations for the coming years.

Together the different members in our sport will make Central American volleyball the one we have always dreamed to be”.
