Fifteen Coaches pass Level II Coaches Course in Santo Domingo

 

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, December 17, 2013 – Fifteen coaches received their respective certificates after passing the International Coaches Course Level II held at the FIVB/NORCECA Regional Development Center in Santo Domingo.

 

The closing ceremony of the course took place on Sunday in the presence of Nelson Ramirez, Director of the Development Center and Angel Rivas, Technical Vice President of the Dominican Republic Volleyball Federation.

 

The participants hailed from Argentina, Bonaire, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Honduras, Peru, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

 

The course was led by FIVB Instructors Argelio Hernandez of Cuba and Juan Cartagena of Puerto Rico and it marked the conclusion of the activities of the Regional Development Center in Dominican Republic for 2013.

 

Both Hernandez and Cartagena encouraged the coaches to continue with their desire to learn the modern techniques of training their teams and about the different philosophies and styles of the game.

 

The participants with the three highest grades during the final exams –Samantha Mann of St Lucia, Carlos Humberto Lopez of Guatemala and Marcos Macedo of Brazil- were recognized during the closing ceremony and each one of them received a magnetic coaching board donated by NORCECA Confederation.
