Finals are all set in Puerto Rican School Championship

 

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, November 15, 2018 - The Finals of the National School Volleyball Championship were defined following the afternoon and evening action of Tuesday, November 13 with the semifinals in the different categories.

 

The Finals will be held at the Antonio R. Barceló Coliseum in Toa Baja, starting on Thursday, November 15 at 4:00 p.m. with the Junior Women category (Disciples - BMA), then the final order will be Junior Men (San Ignacio v. Spain), Senior Female (Adianez v. Saint Francis - 6:30 p.m.) and Senior Male (St. Benedict v. Disciples - 7:45 p.m.),

 

For the Senior and Junior Men's and Women's finals tomorrow, they will be historic for school volleyball not only in Puerto Rico as it will be the first time in the world that the so-called "Video Check" will be used in these categories. The 'Challenge' can be used in these matches according to their regulations that were distributed by the organization.

 

In Junior, the finals that will open the morning of Wednesday, November 15, in Junior Women will have as protagonist the Disciples of Christ Academy of Bayamón and Bayamón Military Academy that will stage the traditional collegiate classic of the Ciudad del Chicharrón. Disciples surpassed San Felipe de Arecibo (25-9, 20-25, 15-7), while BMA overtook Saint Francis (25-21, 22-25, 15-13).

 

Meanwhile, the Senior Women's finals will have as protagonist the Adianez de Guaynabo School that beat Piaget de Manatí (25-20, 25-22) where youth Olympian Maria Gonzalez plays,. They are measured in the final with Saint Francis who defeated Presby.

 

In Junior Men, the defending champion, San José de Río Piedras School and the San Ignacio de Río Piedras School will be in the final. San Jose defeated Disciples in a dramatic game (25-23, 25-23) and San Ignacio beat BMA (25-18, 25-11).

 

In Male Senior, in another great game of the day, San Benito de Mayagüez defeated Saint Francis de Carolina (25-23, 22-25, 15-7). The other finalist is Disciples of Christ who defeated Santa Teresita de Naranjito (26-24, 28-26).

 

In Female Youth, the Disciples of Christ Academy of Bayamón and ABA of Arecibo. Disciples advanced by beating Rosa Bell (25-13, 25-17) and ABA after the undefeated Notre Dame (25-20, 25-10).

 

The other finals will be in Juvenile Male, (Disciples - BMA), Mini Girls (CMA - Disciples) and in Mini Boys (Disciples - Perpetual Help Academy)
