Governor of Baja California Sur welcomes players

 

LA PAZ, Mexico, April 7, 2017 – The state governor of Baja California Sur, H.E. Carlos Mendoza Davis, inaugurated the first stop of the 2017 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit in La Paz during an opening ceremony attended by over 4,000 spectators.

 

Mendoza Davis said it is a high distinction to host the event for a second year in a row highlighting the contribution of sport events to the growth of the tourism in the region.

 

The governor welcomed the athletes hailing from nine countries underlining the fact that thanks to sports events like this one the state has experience a growth of 17 % of visitors this year, promising that his administration will continue supporting the hosting of competitions for the benefit of the fans.

 

Previously, Angel Rivas, delegate of NORCECA and speaking on behalf of its president Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, expressed the gratitude of the institution to the state government for its support saying this support should continue next year so the fans can enjoy the excitement generated by a high level tournament like those organized by the confederation.

 

Mexican players Juan Virgen and Lombardo Ontiveros presented governor Mendoza with an official ball autographed by all the players to thank for the great hospitality received by all the delegations taking part in the event.
