Ismael Acosta former president of Mexican Federation passed away

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, November 21, 2020 – NORCECA Confederation regrets to inform of the passing of Ismael Acosta, former president of the Mexican Volleyball Federation.

Acosta, with degrees in Law and Physical Education and Sports, had a doctorate in Education and Politics. He was 66.

Acosta was the main promoter of the State Law for Sports and Physical Culture of Michoacán and director of the School of Physical Education from 1993 to 1997. He founded the Volleyball Association of Michoacan in 1979 and stood out as player and coach.

Acosta was elected to succeed Prof. Alejandro Salinas de la Garza as president of the Mexican Volleyball Federation after the death of the latter.
