Kim Hill Relishes Finest Moments in Career 

LAUSANNE, Switzerland, February 5, 2021 - “I think I would describe my career as really fun," Kim Hill told Volleyball World. "I was lucky to be able to play for some good clubs, really amazing coaches, and with great teammates, many who have become my closest friends. It’s been an incredible adventure.” 

“My proudest achievements are an Olympic medal, winning the World Championship in 2014 and the Club World Championship with Imoco Volley Conegliano last season,” the 31-year-old Oregon native added. 

Brilliant performances at the 2014 World Championships remain a bit of a blur for Hill, but her heroics in the tournament helped the United States to the title of world champion for the first time. 

“I don’t remember many specific plays, but scoring the last point in the World Championships in 2014 is one my favourite memories.” 

USA recorded 11 wins in 13 matches to complete their title run. Hill scored in double-digits on nine occasions, including her 20-point performance in the final, when she led all USA scorers. 

Whether she was a starter or came off the bench, she made a huge contribution to her team's victorious campaign and collected a total of 159 points, built from 135 spikes, 10 blocks and 14 service winners. 

Hill then went on to fulfil every athlete’s dream of playing at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Being able to do so in front of family and friends, she said, made it the most memorable event of her career. 

“For sure the Olympics were the most memorable. My family has watched the Olympics religiously for as long as I can remember, so to be able to experience it all was unforgettable, and to be able to play for an Olympic medal in front of my family was so incredibly special.” 

And Hill was USA's third best scorer with 95 points, including 80 spikes, six blocks and nine aces to make it into the Top 10 scorers list of the Rio 2016 Olympics alongside teammates and fellow bronze medallists Foluke Akinradewo and Jordan Larson. 

And last but not least in her list of highlights, at a club level, Hill went on to assist Italian Paola Egonu in scoring, landing her another spot in the Top 10 scorers list of the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship, and leading Imoco Conegliano to the title for the first time in history.
