LVSF will be dedicated to Elaine López
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, February 10, 2020 - The Puerto Rican
Volleyball Federation announced that the 2020 season of the
Women's Superior Volleyball League will be dedicated to
Elaine López.
Lopez one of the most productive players in the history of
the LVSF who saw action for more than 15 seasons, was part
of the national teams of indoor and beach.
“Elaine has been one of the most offensive players in the
history of the LVSF, her numbers speak for themselves. She
has always been a natural athlete and although she is no
longer in volleyball she stays in the sport,” said FPV
President Dr. César Trabanco.
The historic number 5 saw action in the LVSF with Leonas de
Ponce (his hometown), Chicas de San Juan and Ganaderas de
Hatillo.
Lopez debuted at age 13 in 1989, played in the three
championships won by the Leonas between 1989 and 1991, in
1999 was traded to Hatillo and then in 2000 to San Juan.
She retired in 2005.
