Marte Hoffiz inspects BVB venue in Veracruz

VERACRUZ, Mexico, 25 November 2014-Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, NORCECA President and FIVB Vice-President, accompanied by NORCECA First Executive Vice President Saul Verdugo Castro inspected the Beach Volleyball competition venue of the XXII Central American and Caribbean Games at Magic Kingdom Park in the city of Veracruz.

Marte Hoffiz visited the grounds along with members of the control committee, led by the Director of Operations of the Organizing Committee of Veracruz (COVER) Architect Gabriel Arquieta, who explained the safety measures that have been taken due to the strong winds that hit the city.

Arquieta explained "we have placed a metal barrier around the courts to reduce the strong winds to somehow improve the playing conditions; when they’re no longer needed they can be dismantled”

The 125km per hour winds haven’t allowed the whole assemblage, but the courts are ready for the competition.

"I appreciate the great efforts by the COVER to assure the tournament; we will do our part” said Maret Hoffiz. "There are preventive measures that should be taken as they develop, including delaying the competition’s schedule" he added.

A working session completed the inspection, for final details, as well as reviewing the information to be handed out to the delegations.
