Nicaraguans get most of the awards

 

MANAGUA, Nicaragua, 20 de mayo, 2012 – Players of Nicaragua National Team received most of the individual awards at the conclusion of the 2014 FIVB Women’s World Championship First Round NORCECA H held in Managua.

 

Valeska Hernandez claimed the Most Valuable Player award for her contributions to the first place achieved by the home team and she also received the trophy as Best Server.

 

Heidy Traña was recipient of the Best Spiker and Best Blocker trophies while Lolette Rodriguez won her third regional trophy as Best Setter. Juny Aguilera won the recognition as Best Receiver.

 

Walda Maldonado of Guatemala, also for third time, took home the trophies as Best Digger and Best Libero and her teammate Rut Gomez was the Best Scorer.

 

“These are prizes that you never expect. When I go into the court is only thinking about giving my best and defending the colors blue and white of our flag,” the MVP Hernandez said.
