Mexico with two pairs in semifinals at Toluca

 

TOLUCA, Mexico, May 26 2012 - The pairs of Mexico, Canada and Cuba advanced to the women’s semifinals at the NORCECA VI International Beach Volleyball Circuit.

 

Mexico advanced with two couples, after Bibiana Candelas and Mayra Garcia defeated Puerto Rico’s Tatiana Encarnacion and Dariam Acevedo 2-0 (21-9 y 21-7).


They will face Canada’s Jacqueline Tait and Victoria Cowley on Sunday. Cowley and Tait defeated Mayra Santacruz and Gloria Santiago (Mexico-3) in three sets (13-21, 21-18 y 15-11).

 

In the previous match, Martha Revuelta and Vanessa Virgen of Mexico-2 defeated Diana Peguero and Nairobi Agramonte of Dominican Republic 2-0 (21-13 y 21-10).

 

Revuelta and Virgen will match Cuba’s Ion Canet and Nirian Sinal, who beat Elia Maria Torrez and Swan Mendoza on the quarterfinals 2-0 (21-13, 21-16).
