SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, March 30,
2022- A new composition of the age group
categories was approved by the FIVB and will
take effect immediately.
The new design equates the ages in both genders
for the existing categories, which contributes
to a better understanding by the public and an
easier handling for the national federations and
the continental confederations.
From now on there will be divisions for under
19s (U-19) and under 21s (U-21) for both
genders, just as there is for the under-23
category.
By this means, the national federations are
informed to take into account the new regrouping
in order to adapt their qualifying tournaments
to the regulations that will govern from now on.
It is also reported that the FIVB has set for
the year 2024 World Championships in the U-17
categories which seeks to provide competition
opportunities at an early age and thus attract
athletes to our sport.
On the other hand, it is made known that the
FIVB has created World Championships in the U-17
category that will take place in 2024, which
will provide opportunities to compete at an
early age, which will attract young people to
our sport discipline. |
