Nicaraguan Federation replaces resigning members

MANAGUA, Nicaragua, August 24, 2020 – Marlon Narvaéz and Norma Vásquez were elected as Secretary and Treasurer, respectively, as part of the Executive Committee of the Nicaraguan Volleyball Federation (FNVB) following the Extraordinary Assembly held on August 22 at the premises of the Nicaraguan Olympic Committee (CON).

The Assembly had as main item the election of these two new members after the vacancies created by the resigning of Magdalena Sandoval (Secretary) and Martha Morales (Treasurer).

The Assembly had the presence of 15 persons among president and representatives of the Volleyball Department Associations, and members of the Executive Committee of the FNVB, 13 of them with right to vote in the election.

Narvaez, president of the Association of Carazo and Yenil Lopez, president of the Associaton of Los Minas, were proposed as candidate for Secretary. In the election, Narvaez received 10 votes in favor against three by Lopez.

Meanwhile, Vásquez, vice president of the Jinoteca Association, was the only one proposed for the position as Treasurer, receiving 12 votes in favor and one abstention.

The Executive Committee of the FNVB is composed now by Bertha Cuadra (President), Aarón Silva (Vice President), Marlon Narváez (Secretary), Norma Vásquez (Treasurer) and René Quintana (Prosecutor).

Schedule of national events

Among other topics, the Assembly discussed the calendar and hosts of the national events of volleyball for the rest of the year.

For the time being, Granada remains as site for the U20 National Female on September 26-27 while the RACCS will receive the U21 Male event on October 24-25.

The U23 Male National will take place in Managua on Octobe 31-November 1, National Selective Men’s on November 14 and the National Selective Women’s on November 21 and the U23 Female National on December 5-6.
