Puerto Rico calls 22 players to Training National Team
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, February 11, 2019 – Twenty-two players
have been included in the Women’s Training National Team of
Puerto Rico ahead of the different events scheduled to take
place during the summer of 2019.
The list of players was worked out by national coach Jose Mieles
and his working group and approved by Dr. Cesar Trabanco,
president of the Puerto Rican National Volleyball Federation.
The players included in the training squad are setters Natalia
Valentin, Raymariely Santos and Wilmarie Rivera, the outside
hitters Karina Ocasio, Stephanie Enright, Aury Cruz, Pilar Marie
Victoriá, Julymar Otero, Legna Hernández, Génesis Anais Miranda
and Kanisha Jiménez, the middle blockers Ana Sofía Jusino,
Neira Ortiz, Diana Reyes, Lynda Morales, Alba Hernández and
Paola Rojas, the opposite attackers Paulina Prieto and Génesis Collazo
and the liberos, Shara Venegas, Valeria León and Adriana Viña.
“We have analyzed the different options of groups that will go
to the tournaments and this summer we are going to have many
events and hopefully I can use all the players,” Mieles said.
In 2019, the first competition for the national team will be the
NORCECA qualifier to the Challenge Cup at the end of May.
Besides during the summer the events include the Pan American
Games Lima 2019 and the Intercontinental Olympic Qualifier in
Poland. |
