Refreshing E-Sheet virtual course concludes successfully

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, July 18, 2020 – The NORCECA/FIVB Regional Development Center of Volleyball in the Dominican Republic successfully carried out a virtual Course of Refreshing the Electronic Scoring Sheet on Friday night.

The course was directed by Claudia Rivera of El Salvador, Judith Sandino of Nicaragua and Yinet Cruz of Dominican Republic. The referee Denny Cespedes of Dominican Republic explained all the matters related to the hawk-eye operation.

The opening ceremony had the participation of Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, President of NORCECA who began his words congratulating the Development Center for this initiative in benefit of international and continental referees and director of competitions.

Also Willy Paredes, President of the Refereeing Commission of FIVB took an active part underlining that is a requirement for all the referees to have a complete knowledge of the use of the e-sheet explaining that it will be one of the conditions to officiate FIVB matches in future competitions.

Both Marte Hoffiz and Paredes congratulated the participants for their interest in being up to date in the use of the latest technology applied in volleyball and also to the Regional Center for offering the opportunity to the referees by organizing the virtual course.

Nelson Ramirez, director of the Regional Development Center, thanked the president of CACSO Luis Mejia Oviedo and its director of technology Jupiter Rivera for providing the appropriate platform to carry out the virtual course.
