Refreshment Course for Referees in PUR

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, February 6, 2019 – Seventeen referees participated in a Refreshment Course organized by the Professional Volleyball Officials of Puerto Rico from February 1 to 3.

The activity had the endorsement of the Puerto Rican Volleyball Federation presided over by Dr. Cesar Trabanco.

Current FIVB International Referees Dennis Céspedes, Héctor Ortiz Rivera and Juan Rivera Santiago were the instructors.

Dr. Carmen Nevares nutritionist of the Puerto Rican Olympic Committee, Roy Velez, member of NORCECA Refereeing Commission, and Aurelio Mendoza, retired FIVB international referee, participated as lecturers.

Topics of the course included, among others, fair play, interference under the net, touch of the net, replays, substitutions, blocking, delay of the game, re-designation of libero, exceptional substitutions.

At the conclusion of the three-day course, each referee received their certificate of participation presented by Mr. Vélez.
