President Wei to participate in NORCECA Congress

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, September 27, 2011 – The FIVB President Jizhong Wei will arrive in Dominican Republic next Thursday to participate as special guest in the Elective NORCECA Congress set to be held in Punta Cana on October 6-8.

FIVB First Vice President and NORCECA President Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, who is running for a new four-year term, made the announcement on Tuesday.

Marte Hoffiz said it will be a pleasure to have President Wei back in Dominican Republic as he recalled the ocassion of the FIVB Executive Committee and Board of Administration meetings two years ago also in Punta Cana.

During his stay in Santo Domingo, accompanied by several volleyball world leaders, Mr Wei will visit the NORCECA headquarters and will meet with the local and international media.

“Mr Wei will have a busy schedule during the weekend and in the next few days we will be giving the final touches to the organization of the Congress and the Development Seminar for National Federations Category I and II,” Marte Hoffiz said.

The volleyball leaders that will also have been invited to the Congress include FIVB Second Executive Vice President Mr Theofanis Tsiokris, FIVB Treasurer and CEV President Mr Aryen Meyer and South American Confederation President Dr Ary Graça da Silva.
