Teachers Course in western

Dominican Republic

 

   
 

SAN JUAN DE LA MAGUANA, Dominican Republic, March 19, 2015 – A technical course for school teachers of physical education is running in San Juan de la Maguana, a province located in the southwest region of the Dominican Republic under the auspices of FIVB and NORCECA Confederation.

 

The course is under the supervision of FIVB Instructor Gilberto Herrera of Cuba with the assistance of Vicente Paniagua of Dominican Republic.

 

An opening ceremony was organized to launch the course being held in collaboration with the Dominican Republic Physical Education Institute.

 

Attendees included Regional Development Centre Director Prof. Nelson Ramirez, South Regional INEFI Director Mr William Tapia, Dominican Olympic Committee Executive Director Mrs Dulce Maria Piña, South Region Universidad Autonoma Director Mrs Elvira Corporan, Dominican National Federation Executive Committee Member Mr Rudy Valdez and FIVB Instructor Gilberto Herrera.


"I am very proud of the development taking place in volleyball across the Dominican Republic. The physical education teachers are the first to teach volleyball to our children. I am very sure that volleyball will continue to develop and grow in all schools in the Dominican Republic," said Herrera.

 

Prof. Ramirez expressed his gratitude to the directors of the Physical Education Institute for their efforts in the organization of the important course.
