USA joins Turkey and Italy with 6-1 mark

LINCOLN, Nebraska, June 4, 2019 - United States joined Turkey and Italy as teams with 6-1 win-loss records in the FIVB Women’s Volleyball League of Nations currently going through its third week of actions.

The American side recovered from a slow start to defeat Korea 3-1 (19-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-18).

Chiaga Ogboku led the United States with 16 points followed by Jordan Larson and Tetori Dixon with 13 and 10, respectively. Andrea Drews, Jordan Thompson and Mikaela Foecke each contributed 9 points in the victory.

For Korea Heejin Kim finished with 14 points while Seungju Pyo added 12 in the losing effort.

The winners led in aces 11-3 and in attacks 56-49.

 In Wednesday’s action, Korea (1-6) plays Brazil (4-3) while United States (6-1) meet Germany (2-5).
