USA’s Matt Anderson chosen as MVP of Norceca Men’s Continental
Championship
LANGLEY, Canada September 28, 2013.- Matt Anderson of USA was
selected as the Most Valuable Player of the Norceca Men’s
Continental Championship celebrated at Langley Events Centre in
British Columbia, Canada.
Also from USA Micah Christenson was recognized as Best Server
and Best Setter, while Head Coach John Sparrow received the Jim
Coleman Award.
Among the Best Players according to statistics Cuban Rolando
Cepeda received the distinction as Best Scorer, while
Guatemala’s Andy Alexis Leonardo Blanco took the honors as Best
Spiker.
Rudy Verhoeff from Canada was chosen as Best Blocker, while
Blair Cameron Bann was the Best Receiver. The Best Digger and
Best Libero Awards were given to Puerto Rico’s Dennis del Valle.
The Norceca Confederation also awarded the All Star Team of the
tournament, based in every player’s positions. The Ideal squad
Outside Hitters were USA’s Matt Anderson’s and William Priddy,
while the Setter position distinction was also awarded by an
American player: Micah Christenson.
Mexican Daniel Vargas was included as Opposite Hitter, while
Rudy Verhoeff was considered as the ideal Middle Blocker along
with Bahamas’ Byron Ferguson.
As libero, Puerto Rico’s, Dennis del Valle granted the honors. |
